Recently while browsing Dayre, I saw a fellow Dayrean having their lunch here at $10 nett as they were having a lunch promotion for all mains at only $10 nett.
It is located at the unit where 49 Seats used to be located at. Upon entering, I find this cafe really weird as from the decorations to food and even locations, it has closed replication to 49 seats which make em ponder for a moment if this is a sister cafe of 49 seats or if it is the rebranded 49 seats.
We ordered their Tom Yum Seafood Pasta and Fish and Chips with Tom Yum sauce with choice of sides of Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes
This pasta, have a really close taste to the one at 49 seats. But I will find this a little tad too creamy for my liking. Seafood was really fresh and there were also generous with the portion wise I think you can skip this fish and chips with tomyum sauce as it tasted really disappointing. The mashed potatoes came mushy and the mac and cheese have a distinct appearance of instant mac and cheese. The whole dish came cold and we did not enjoy this dish as much as the pasta Saturday, 21 November 2015 Last Saturday i specially woke up early to visit Ah bong's italian with the fam after hearing that it has one of the best mac and cheese. Reached there at around 12 and it was pretty crowded but luckily we manage to get a table quickly. I saw how Chris, the chef of Ah Bong's italian tasted every single pasta sauce to make sure every plate tasted the same before he serve it out. I guess thats the reason why ah bong's italian tasted so good. Its the person that is cooking it that makes a difference. Ordered their Truffle Mac & Cheese ($7) & Duck Ragu ($10) Personally i like both plates of pasta. Each plates have their unique point. The mac and cheese with creamy white sauce that tasted creamy and not too gelate. The sauce have a strong truffle taste as well. $7 for such a big portion and cafe quality. The duck ragu ($10) stands out more between the two pasta that we ordered. Duck is said to be braised with red wine. Love this combi a lot. The duck is braised well with the red wine and spices. It tasted very special and surprisingly it goes really well with pasta. My mom tot it's a little pricey for the price of $10 but i think it other wise. Big portion and cafe quality food is hard to find nowadays @ below $10 Definitely gonna be one of my new favourite pasta place. Still craving for the duck ragu pasta after so long. Secretly hoping he's gonna open a new outlet at somewhere nearer. Wednesday, 7 October 2015 Started our day by having our lunch at old tiong bahru bak kut teh Ordered the pork ribs one ($6.50). The soup came hot and it was very peppery which kind of brings out the fragrance of the bak kut teh. Pork ribs was soft and tender and not too hard. Was sososo good. Perhaps maybe cos i was too hungry too. hahah. All this for a total of $7.20 only as i shared the you tiao with my friend. Moving on, we went to explore tiong bahru after eating and came across plain vanilla bakery while searching for books actually.
The interior and exterior of the bakery is very pretty and cosy. We literally sit there the whole time after visiting the bookstores around and chitchat.
Red velvet ($3.90)
Before visting tiong bahru, i actually heard from reviews that the cupcakes are a little too dry. But personally i feel that its the frosting that is dry and not the cupcakes. The frosting is not those creamy and smooth kind but kind of like those you normally found on donuts. I like this kind of frosting thou but my fren who tried it with me find it a little too dry for her liking. Different preferences i guess.
Super excited for my next visit to tiong bahru. & next up, gonna try Ah bongs italian, dripz bakery and the famous yong tau foo.

Saturday, 26 September 2015 Was craving for waffles initially but Geraldine suggested to eat bingsu instead. Didnt eat this before so we decide to try it out. Actually she suggested to go eat Bingo Jung but it was quite far @ mountbatten so i suggested nunsongyee after reading online that they have open a new outlet right opp bugis. We took quite a long time to decide on which to eat as we were caught between the oreo and choc banana cause both looks as good but decided to go for the choc banana which is @ $13.90. Portion wise was okay to share between two person. They were pretty generous with the choc powder and the whole bowl was filled nicely with choc powder which taste abit like milo dinosaur after awhile. The shaved ice is very fine. There are condensed milk provided for you to go with your bingsu. The condensed milk is slightly diluted thus not sweet and i actually prefer to go my bingsu with the condensed milk thou. Didnt take a picture of the interior of the shop but this bingsu shop is three stories high and is 24hr !! A new supper dessert place for all the night owls if you are at bugis area. Overall 3/5 Ambience 3/5 Service 3/5 Nunsongyee 눈송이 @ Bugis 534 North Bridge Road Singapore 188749 (opposite Bugis Junction, adjacent to Tan Quee Lan Street) Opening Hours: 24 hours daily Sunday, 13 September 2015
Previously went for their dinner and unfortunately, their dinner wasnt that fantastic. Went back for their breakfast and had to wait approximately 1 hour. Before entering the cafe, i was thinking what if the breakfast disappoint me again?
Ordered the ham and scramble egg crossient, monty breakfast which consist of bread, bacon, scramble eggs, hotdog, ham and garden salad & paprika wings Amazingly, lola's breakfast was sooooo sooo sooo sooo good. It was so much better than their dinner. The crossient is so crispy and was filled with buttery taste. scramble egg and ham goes well with the crossient. The portion of the crossient may be small but its very filling !
The monty breakfast is somewhat the dismantle version of the crossient as it has its scramble egg and ham separately from the bread and with the additional of bacon and hot dog.
This is actually my second time eating their paprika wings. When i first eat them during my first visit, i dun understand the hype of these wings. But after the second try, i know why. The skin of the wings is crispy and there is honey on it. The wings is slightly spicy but yet tasted slightly sweet because of the honey which creates a very special kind of taste which is surprisingly good.
There is no GST & service charge at LOLA cafe. Their breakfast is indeed delicious and worth the money as compared to their dinner.
Definitely coming back for more crossient.

Saturday, 18 July 2015 Went to CHAR last week for mom's birthday dinner. It was crowded and it is best that u make a reservation before hand. Wasnt a big fan of meat esp pork belly but its a must have when u visit CHAR. So we ordered the duck meat, pork belly and char siew. The pic shows it all. The char siew is sinful but worth the calorie. It is soft and tender. It literally melts in your mouth in one bite. It taste sweet and make u crave for more after one bite ! Totally know why this is their popular dish. Duck meat was one of the dish that i wanted to order ever since i sat down on the table. The skin was crispy and meat was tender. A pretty good dish to order if u are not a char siew person. Usually when people thought of pork belly, they will assume that it is a extremely fattening dish and full of disgusting fats. But, the pork belly here is surprisingly so good ! the skin was crispy and it wasnt really full of fats which is what i like abt it. This kang kong win my heart. It was SO GOOD. The hei bee hiam taste were so strong but not too overpowering. The veg was crispy and fresh. it was sosososo good that i think i ate the entire plate on my own. HAHA. Thought that it will be good to order a soup since its only $5. But this soup wasnt to my liking. The suan mei taste doesnt really goes well with the spicyness. It has a pretty strong suan mei after taste which makes it taste slightly weird. It will be to your liking if u like suan mei hahahaha Last;y, we ordered my dad's favourite prawns. Overall a nice experience @ CHAR. Waiters was extremely friendly. Would definitely come back again for more kang kong !!!! Tuesdays to Sundays

Wednesday, 10 June 2015 Holiday started not long ago and i have been eating non stop. Finally, went on an exercising trip today with my church mates.
We trek @ ard 11.30. Thankfully the weather was good today as it has been raining the past few days. Our end point is to reach the HSBC treetop bridge ! Along the way, we saw a lot of monkeys and we went to ka jiao them. HAHAH actually is not we ka jiao them but they ka jiao us first. The monkeys went to ka jiao momo and took her bottle away which cause her to cry out of shock. Tbh, it was quite funny. HAHAH.
Soooooo, after trekking for aproximately 2 hours, we have finally reach or destination. THE TREETOP BRIDGE !! I actually have fear for heights but i kind of like overcome it today alr. We actually bought milo bars and wanted to eat it when we are half way thru the bridge. Luckily we didnt. Cos a monkey was walking along the hand rails of the bridge. Super scary and at that point of time, my bag was open and there is food so i quickly zip it when the monkey is right in front of me.
Hahahah fun but tiring at the same time. At first i was quite enthu to trek but then after we reach the treetop bridge, i was really super tired alr plus i only slept for 3 hours.
But there is something super exciting waiting for me after trekking ! We went home and bathe after trekking before we head down to bedok for some cheap and awesome food @ to-gather cafe.
Seafoood Aglio Olio ($8.90)
Tbh, i abit regret after i order this because this aglio olio is not really the legit one.
Usually aglio olio is cooked using chilli padi but at to-gather cafe, they use chili oil to make it spicy. Thus, it gets a bit too oily towards the end as all the oil from the olive oil and chili oil is accumulated below.
But its still worth trying. One thing special about this pasta is that they put salmon in their seafood aglio olio which cant be seen in the picture. Prawns and squid were fresh and no smelly taste which is good.
overall : 7/10
Matcha lava cake ( $5.50)
The matcha lava cake is so niceeeeee. I can totally understand why this is their best selling item and why people travel down all the way just to have their lava cake.
The matcha is bitter and just nice. The matcha ooze out when we cut and its warm which make it super comfortable for our stomach. The lava cake is seriously a must try when u visit to-gather cafe.
overall: 9/10
The service of to-gather cafe is also very good. Service crew were pleasant and polite. Food came hot and fast.
A pleasant first experience.
